A few years back, my wife and I hired the services of a babysitter to take care of our 2-year old while we were away at work. Like every parent in a similar situation, we were worrying ourselves silly, regarding what might be happening to our child while we were away. This was the time when the idea of a surveillance system first dawned in my head. I immediately sat down to search the internet to look for surveillance system guides which can help me set up a surveillance system at home. To my dismay, I found that the market was full of surveillance set-up guides that were not only incomplete, but extremely difficult to understand, for an average homeowner like me. Obviously this revelation left me frustrated as well as helpless.
Luckily, this was also the time I bumped into my old friend Mike (a security expert with 12 years of impeccable working experience in this field) who mentioned that he has been engaged in developing several customized do-it-yourself surveillance devices for his personal use. He willingly stepped forward to help me develop a secret surveillance system for my home.
Soon, Mike and I got together and built a covert surveillance camera, so that I and my wife could know whether our 2-year old was in safe hands or not. But once the camera was in operation, my wife and I were completely stunned at what we saw! When confronted, the babysitter conveniently tried to dodge the situation by denying our accusations. But when we showed her the video footage, she did not know where to hide. Though she apologized for her negligence, we decided to pay her off and terminated her services on the spot. That is the day we thanked God – who knows what lay in store for us, if we did not take this important step just in time?
This experience gave me one important insight. And that is, there could be hundreds of hapless yet anxious parents like me, who, in the absence of a suitable and user-friendly surveillance guide, are suffering several misfortunes with their homes and families.
